I’ve been visiting the Algarve since 1975, although it has only been in the past few years that I’ve been able to return on a regular basis.
These days I am in the area two or three times each year to lead culinary tours as well as the occasional personal development retreat. I have made it my mission to get to know the area, especially those parts of the Algarve that are a bit off-the-beaten track.
Algarve Dining . . .Gwen’s guide to good eating is a result of my combined love of writing, eating well and helping others have great experiences in life. It is a deeply personal reflection of my eating preferences. Algarve Dining currently has over 60 independent restaurant review and will grow and evolve as my opportunities to explore all that the Algarve has to offer continue. You can purchase a copy of Algarve Dining, the book, on Amazon.com, Amazon.eu or in select outlets across the Algarve region.
Algarve Dining, the website, gives me the opportunity to talk about all kinds of aspects of Algarve cuisine, beyond restaurant reviews. I am entranced by the local farmers markets and gourmet food shops and wanted a place where I could talk about them more deeply and richly. I also wanted a space that can change as my knowledge of the Algarve’s cuisine deepens and expands. As I get to know chefs, food purveyors, wine producers and farmers I want to be able to interview them and bring their wealth of food knowledge and wisdom to a wider audience.
Thanks for joining me on this rich and diverse food journey. I hope you come back often and stay connected to this foodie conversation.
